About the Business Integrity Seal

The Business Integrity Seal is a pioneering initiative in Egypt that aims to promote ethical business practices, enhance corporate transparency, and combat corruption within the private sector. By recognizing and certifying companies that demonstrate strong anti-corruption measures, the initiative encourages responsible business conduct and reinforces Egypt’s position as a regional leader in promoting integrity.

Participating companies undergo a comprehensive certification process, which includes self-assessment, documentation review, and independent evaluation. Those that meet the established standards receive the Business Integrity Seal—a symbol of their commitment to ethical operations and transparent governance. This recognition enhances their credibility and can provide a competitive edge in the marketplace.

The initiative is guided by a high-level Advisory Board, composed of experts from various sectors, and operates under a clearly defined governance framework to ensure transparency and accountability. Rigorous assessment criteria and audit mechanisms have been developed to uphold the Seal’s credibility. In addition, tailored workshops and capacity-building sessions help companies strengthen their internal controls and prepare for certification.

Led by the UN Global Compact Network Egypt (GCNE), the initiative aligns with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals. GCNE works to integrate responsible practices into the local business environment, fostering dialogue, partnerships, and collective action among diverse stakeholders from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society.

At its core, the Business Integrity Seal Initiative reflects a broader mission to empower Egypt’s private sector to build sustainable, transparent, and accountable business models that contribute to long-term national development.
